Third win in a row for Town

Coalville Town 6 Ramgharia (Derby) 1

BodyKraft East Midlands Premier Division

Coalville cruised to a convincing win over rock-bottom Ramgharia in their latest Bodykraft East Midlands Premier Division encounter at King Edward VII College.

Town won the previous fixture between the these two sides by the bizarre scoreline of 8-6, and it was soon apparent there were goals to be had again. Ryan Mason and Sam Crowie both seeing early chances saved by the Ramgharia keeper.

It took until 15 minutes in for Town to open the scoring when topscorer Chris Vernon picked the pocket of a defender and raced into the dee before hitting a forceful shot into the far corner of the goal for his 20th league goal of the season.

Coalville continued to apply the pressure on the visitors, and doubled their advantage shortly before the break. Town were awarded a penalty corner and the ball was played out to Vernon who thundered the ball home.

There no more scoring until after the break, and the Town defence of Adam Barnett, Rich Wright, James Woodard and Liam McArthur had largely ensured Adam Johnson in the Coalville goal had been untested.

Town were quickly out of the blocks in the second half and soon put the game beyond Ramgharia's reach. Mason made it 3-0 when he beat a player before hitting home an effort from just inside the area.

Andy Newman then made it 4-0 moments later when Mason again beat his man and slipped the ball into the left midfielders path for him to fire past the Ramgharia keeper.

Ramgharia fought back and got a consolation at this point from a penalty corner. An initial strike was saved by Johnson, but the Ramgharia forwards reacted more quickly to the rebound and were able to blast home to make to 4-1.

But Coalville continued to pile it on and made it 5-1 when Vernon's shot was saved by the Ramgharia keeper, but the rebound fell to Mark Newman who was able to slot home his fifth goal of the season.

Town rounded the scoring off with 15 minutes to go when Mason got a deserved second goal, latching onto Phil Sign's pass and slipping the ball by the Ramgharia keeper to make it 6-1 and a comfortable win for Town.

Coalville make the short trip to third-placed Leicester Thursday on Saturday, hoping to maintain their good run of form against their bitter local rivals.
