Defeat despite dominance Rugby & East Warwick 3rd XI 2 Coalville Town 3rd XI 0 Bodykraft 3rd XI East Midlands Premier Division Coalville went down to a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Rugby on Saturday, despite being back to a near full strength squad. Town started the game well forcing several penalty corners. However, Town where shocked when against the run of play Rugby scored their first goal. Minutes later, things got even worse for Coalville when Rugby doubled their lead with a good strike from the top of the dee, leaving Greg Tongue in the Coalville goal no chance. Coalville shuffled everyone round at half time and began the second half much better. Gareth Toyer began to see a lot more of the ball, the midfield started to put more pressure on the Rugby players with good work down the left from Jordan Ward and the right from Chris Pearson. This left the Coalville defence of Simon Calkin, Simon Clare and Darren Ward with little to do. But despite lots of pressure Coalville could not break the Rugby defence down. Town will hope to do better this weekend when they host Mansfield on Saturday. |
