Matt makes Leicester pay

Coalville Town 4th XI  3  Leicester 4th XI  1

Bodykraft Central League South East Division One

A brace by Matt Wooldridge was enough to give Coalville a fine win over county rivals Leicester and to move them above their opponents in the Bodykraft Central League South East Division One.

Coalville started the game brightly, with Adam Martin and Josh McArthur in midfield both causing Leicester all sorts of problems. It wasn't long before Coalville were creating chances, with top scorer Carl Clay going close with one effort and Liam Bates seeing another shot go narrowly wide.

Midway through the half Town took the lead when Martin slipped Wooldridge away down the right flank and the Coalville winger drove a shot home past the Leicester keeper.

Leicester came back after this to level the game up at 1-1, despite a couple of good saves from Kieron Fisher in the Town goal. But they weren't level for very long, Clay again finding the target with a well-struck shot.

Leicester began to apply some fierce pressure on the Town defence after this, and it wasn't until midway through the second half that Coalville made the game safe with a fantastic goal. Wooldridge picked the ball up just inside his own half and used his searing pace to race away from the Leicester defenders. The Leicester keeper came out to meet the Coalville player as he entered dee, but Wooldridge showed great composure to deftly lift the ball over the keeper and into the goal to make it 3-1.

And that was enough to kill Leicester off, and secure all of the points for Coalville, who climb into fourth spot as a result.
