Dumelow effort the decider

Coalville Town 4th XI 2 Nuneaton 4th XI  1

Bodykraft Central League South East Division One

Coalville's fourth string gained a typically hard-fought win against old rivals Nuneaton in their latest Bodykraft Central League South East Division One fixture.

Early on neither team really took the game by the scruff of the neck as a fairly ugly midfield battle took place. But it was Nuneaton who ultimately settled first against the young Coalville side, and midway through the first half they managed to take the lead with a well struck shot.

It remained that way until half-time, but after the restart Coalville began to get more of the ball and started to make use of it. A move down the right 10 minutes after the restart led to Town drawing level when the ball found Liam Bates in the area and he fired a fine finish to level the game up.

Chances were now coming at each end, and Carl Clay went close next - seeing one effort come back off the post and another go narrowly over at a penalty corner.

It took until 10 minutes from the end for the deciding goal to come. Coalville were awarded a penalty corner and the ball found James Dumelow who thumped the ball home.

Nuneaton tried hard to get back on level terms, but time ran out and Coalville had bounced back from the previous weeks drubbing by Warwick University.
