Students teach Town a lesson

Warwick University 4th XI 7 Coalville Town 4th XI  0

Bodykraft Central League South East Division One

Coalville took a thumping against fast, fit and powerful Warwick University side in their latest Bodykraft Central League South East Division One fixture.

Town battled bravely throughout, but against a Warwick side who were well drilled in every department, with the added incentive of chasing a promotion spot, it was no surprise when the home side took the lead.

A couple of more goals from penalty corners made it 3-0 at the break. The young Coalville side continued to battle after this, with Adam Martin showing typical fighting spirit in the face of adversity. Matt Wooldridge soon had a chance for Town, but his shot was well saved by the Warwick keeper.

The Students continued to show their supremacy, and their well-worked penalty corner routine helped them stretch their lead to 5-0, and another couple of neat interchanges with firm finishes made it 7-0, but despite the final scoreline Town admirable courage and battling spirit and the key will be to learn lessons from some of the play of the Warwick University side.
