Dumelow double seals win Coalville Town 4th XI 3 Nuneaton 5th XI 1 Bodykraft Central League South East Division One Coalville's fourth string turned in a workmanlike performance to see off the challenge of rock bottom Nuneaton in their latest Bodykraft Central League South East Division One fixture. Town started this game brightly, and took the lead as early as the third minute. Matt Wooldridge burst forward down the right and fired the ball into the area. Carl Clay picked it up, but his shot was blocked. The rebound came out to the stick of James Dumelow and he hitting a looping effort in against the top of the backboard. Coalville continued to play enterprising stuff after this, with Josh McArthur and Adam Martin linking up well in midfield, and Liam Bates adding a bit of extra grit wherever he played on the park. Clay soon saw a drag flick at a penalty corner go narrowly wide, and another well struck effort brought a good side out of the Nuneaton keeper. In fact, the Nuneaton keeper was having a pretty decent game, and he denied another good effort from Ezra Watson. Somewhat against the run of play, Nuneaton broke away and on 12 minutes levelled the game with a what was a well-taken goal after some enterprising play down their right flank and well struck shot that left Kieron Fisher in goal clutching at thin air and asking some serious questions of the rather weak defending that had gone before. But the visitors were level for only five minutes. A Coalville penalty corner broke down, but Town managed to keep the ball in around the area. It eventually broke to Bates, and he produced an excellently controlled strike to fire home. Town continued to press after this, with the defence of Sean Rigley, Simon Wyatt and Jack Butcher largely in control of their men. Three minutes before the interval Town added a third when Dumelow again did well to hold off his man, turn and fire home a fierce strike that gave the Nuneaton keeper no chance. In the second half Coalville continued to have the upper hand, but that killer instinct seemed to disappear. They came close to getting a fourth, and a third for Dumelow, when a penalty corner was fired home - but the umpires ruled the ball had failed to leave the dee and so the effort was disallowed. This win maintains Coalville's hopes of claiming fourth spot in the table - which would be a major achievement for a team made up mainly of players aged under 18.
