Sixths smashed

Rugby & East Warwick 7th XI 9  Coalville Town 6th XI  3

Bodykraft Central League South East Division Two

Revenge was clearly on the mind of the home side in this game as Town suffered a thrashing at the hands of a Rugby & East Warwick side Coalville had beaten 6-0 earlier in the season.

Town were soon a couple of goals down, despite Leon Poxon's best efforts as stand-in keeper. Town got a goal back to make it 2-1 when David Lorrimer fired home after good work from Kris Webb and Craig Deacon.

But Rugby added a couple more from well-worked penalty corners before Town struck again, Ahren Parry bursting through the defence to slide the ball past the Rugby keeper.

Town then made it 4-3 when Lorrimer was again on hand to fire home from close range, but Rugby added a fifth moments before the break.

The second half was a one-sided affair as Rugby took complete control, bagging another four goals to repay Town for the six-goal drubbing they'd handed out to Rugby just before Christmas.

This result ensures the sixths finish the season in sixth place in Central League South East Division Two.
