Sixths stroll to victory

Coalville Town 6th XI 3  Jaguar Coventry 4th XI  0

Bodykraft Central League South East Division Two

Coalville's sixth string gained a convincing win against a shorthanded Jaguar Coventry side to lift themselves up the BodyKraft Central League South East Division Two table.

Town created several chances before finally opening the scoring midway through the first half when, from a penalty corner, the ball was played out to Dean Pallett and he thundered home a trademark strike from the edge of the dee.

Coalville now had the upper hand  and after 30 minutes they doubled their lead with a cracking goal. Craig Deacon and Jaspal Randhawa exchanged passes, and Randhawa entered the dee and hit a fierce reverse stick shot into the left hand corner of the goal to make it 2-0.

Jaspal and brother Jaswinder Randhawa were causing Jaguar all sorts of problems down the flank with their trickery, while James Ewing was battling away in the centre of the park. At the back, Josh Garrigan, Liam Poxon and Adam Whitehall were all solid, although Town did lose skipper Dave Briers to injury fairly early on in the game.

10 minutes into the second half Coalville confirmed their superiority when Ash Wootton broke away down the left and crossed the ball for David Lorrimer to sweep home the third goal from around the penalty spot.

A comfortable win for the sixths, who are now level of points with the fifth string.
