Pallett powers four as sixths smash Rugby Coalville Town 6th XI 6 Rugby & East Warwick 7th XI 0 Bodykraft Central League South East Division Two Coalville's sixth string produced a fine performance to demolish a side two places above them in the Bodykraft Central League South East Division Two 6-0. Dean Pallett was the chief tormentor, bagging four goals, as Coalville thumped a side who the previous week had thrashed basement side Jaguar Coventry 10-0! Town started brightly from the off and took the lead in the 20th minute with arguably the best goal of the game. Matt Howells and Tom Kelly combined to find Pallett at the edge of the area. Pallett has always been known as a bigger hitter in the club, and he can't have struck many better as he unleashed an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the goal to make it 1-0. With their tails up, Town went in search of a second goal, and shortly before the interval they did manage to double their advantage. Ash Wootton slipped the ball across the dee where Pallett was again waiting to reverse stick the ball into the goal from close range. Town started the second half in much the same manner, with the defence of Josh Garrigan, Liam Poxon, Craig Deacon and Martin Saunt mopping up most of what Rugby & East Warwick had to offer, although Stuart Burton in the Coalville did have to make a couple of useful interventions. It wasn't long before Coalville had sliced Rugby open again with incisive play from Wootton finding Ahren Parry who fired home past the advancing keeper to make it 3-0. It quickly became 4-0 as Pallett completed his hat-trick with another well struck shot from the edge of the area, and Coalville continued to dominate as Kristian Webb raced away after good work from James Ewing and Howells to slot home the fifth. Town then rounded off a comprehensive thumping of a side who still remain fourth in the table with sixth goal, Pallett slipping the ball under the Rugby keeper after good play from Parry and Deacon had created the opening. |
