Streetly to good!
Streetly put the lights out on Coalville
Coalville 2-7 Streetly
An early meet time and an extended warm up session was the order on Saturday morning in order to prepare for the upcoming tussle with a Streetly side flying high in the table. Previous meetings with this opposition had seen them press hard and early and this was exactly the tactic they employed again. Early chances fell to both sides before Streetly drew first blood from a short corner. The initial flick was pushed out to the right, but this was quickly hit back across goal and scrambled in. The away side were spurred on by this early boost and attacked in waves with pace and numbers. Coalville's defence struggled to cope and were completely discombobulated by the quick movement and skills of Streetly's forward line and conceded another 4 goals by half time without reply.
A stern talking half time team talk was needed for Coalville to try and gain some respectability from the game. Unfortunately, this did not stop the score line going to 6-0 early in the second half. Some good work finally up front for Coalville resulted in Mike Browbank breaking his duck for the season, characteristically scoring from at least a yard out. The second half was a much more even affair, both sides adding a second goal in the half. Callum Slaney notching his third of the season now having 3 of Coalville's 5 for the season. Man of the match Tom Kerry was the stand out performance in an otherwise forgetful game for Coalville who now need to regroup for their next game against Nottingham Players and look to kick start their season with a much needed 3 points.
